With the release of the Figma Community. designers using Figma now can access tons of free resources uploaded by other amazing designers around the world. I have collated the list of some I think you can look to explore.

I want to believe that every designer using Figma has made use of a community resource for various reasons at one point or the other. Either to speed up your workflow or add some inspiration to your moodboard. In this brief article, I’ll be highlighting the top 10 resources I think beginner designers should have in their archive or look into.

SVG World Map

SVG World Map: This is a shameless plug 😅 I and a friend collaborated to create this resource due to the frustration we faced when we wanted to use a similar asset for a client project. This resource makes it easy for designers to add either filled or outlined SVG maps into their designs. You can grab it here.

3D Models

3d Models: With the new trend around integrating 3D into UI designs, designs, it is only right that I add this here to help budding designers get a feel of the 3d appeal and integrate it into your upcoming projects or fun explorations. You can grab it here

Uber Base Design System

Uber’s Base design system: This is a really cool resource if you’re just getting into design systems or creating one yourself and you want to be able to visualize and understand the UI components that make up a part of a design system. You can grab this resource here

Mobile UI Kit

Mobile UI Kit — E-commerce: With over 13.1k duplicates, this is a good resource to duplicate and reuse for your e-commerce design explorations. It also comes with a dedicated page that shows the micro-interactions in the design. So this is a good learning resource for both your e-commerce designs and learning about prototyping with Figma. (This is my last shameless plug, I promise. 😅) You can grab this resource here

Style Guidelines

Style Guidelines: Are you currently creating a style guide for a personal project or you are just learning about style guides? This is a really good resource to help give you a good start when working on your own style guide. You can grab this resource here

Design system Starter: With the adoption of a design system across design teams and its value to companies, many designers are currently learning and exploring design systems — What’s needed to start one. Although this resource does not give in-depth insight into creating a design system, this is a good starter resource to understand what’s needed for a design system. You can grab this resource here

Device Mockups

Device mockups: presenting your work is one of the skills every designer should learn, and making use of mockups is one way to properly present your design. This community file is great for creating mockups for both your mobile and desktop screens. Grab this resource here

If you believe there is any resource I should check out drop them in the comments section for me, I’ll compile them and write more articles about them. In the meantime, don’t forget to also create resources for the Figma community. Thank you!
